comfortably numb a real feeling?

I think comfortably numb is a real feeling Iv'e had a feeling like a few times when I've been ill and it's not comfortable! It's really strange your whole body goes hot and and sweaty and you feel numb all over yoy feel an invisible seering pain creeping through your body and thoughts race through your head and pound against the wall of your mind and sometimes you hallcinate and can't rember what happened . and when you come out of this state you can't stop shivering and you shiver whenever you think about it ,it's a realy strange feeling.all the pain just is inside your mind.any body else felt like this before?

Every Saturday night pal, I blame the rancid kebab but my wife reckons it could be the 15 pints of lager that usually precede it.

Yeah, it's called a fever. I remember the feeling...had some REALLY wierd hallucinations.

I'm not sure if that's EXACTLY what Roger was talking about though...I think he's more aluding to drug induced detachment (which is a little more "comfortable", and a little more "numb" than the hell you visit when you have a fever).
