If so, well, we'll just have to cut his head off and bury him somewhere, 'cause it goes without saying that we can't turn him loose. He'd report us at once to some kind of outback Nazi law enforcement agency and they'll run us down like dogs. Jesus, did I say that? Or just think it? Was I talking? Did they hear me?"

Roger made a promise to his dying best friend that he would carry on his legacy and be an ass to fans.

Re: Meet Floyd?

.......no, his kind of ass-ness is something you're definitely born with; it takes a good amount of years to mature the style.

Re: Meet Floyd?

Having never met the guy, I can't say that he is an ass, my friend met him backstage at Hershey right after the concert. He claimed he was stand-offish and didn't want to meet the fans that had some how gotten hold of backstage passes.

I can't say I blame him, how would you like it if at your job some slack-jaws came and gawked at you.

Re: Meet Floyd?

You've got a point...but even though I've been showing my work to others for quite some years now, I STILL apreciate feedback and compliments...don't you think Roger might too? (though now that I think about it...maybe he doesn't)

Re: Meet Floyd?

People don't like being idolized to the point of inhumanity. Roger Waters is just another guy, and he happens to write songs and perform them. When people come backstage and stare at him as if he is some sort of icon or symbol of power, I'm sure it's rather annoying. When someone wants to meet you just so that they can say that they've met you, wouldn't you be a tad frustrated by the experience?

Re: Meet Floyd?

I don't think it's asking a lot for a performer to be civil and at least fake interest in talking to fans. It's part of their job description.

But I'm sure I wouldn't like it either.

P. S. good stories Fulg...glad you brought it back.
