Re: General Forum

Rickenbaker, Fender, Gibson - when you play as badly as me, you can make all of them sound terrible

Saw Mark Knopfler in concert a few weeks ago - excellent concert.

Apart from Floyd or it's members, who is the best band live ?

Genesis used to be very entertaining, Clapton was good but became too blues oriented for me. I also like world music - Baka Beyond, Salif Keita, Papa Wemba, Burning Spear are great acts live, well worth checking out.

Re: General Forum

I've seen videos, never actually seen them live, but I'd say Rage Against The Machine.

ALso PHISH, who are great on the spot performers, and of course some local bands, which none of you would know. And since I just saw them less then a month ago, They Might Be Giants (these guys can only be described as anti-pop music).

Re: General Forum

I've only seen their two videos, but Rage Against the Machine is incredible live. Also, Radiohead is extremely good live as well.

Re: General Forum

I would say Gabriel-era Genesis & Jethro tull, for the charisma of their both leading men and for peter's costumes and stories, and The Who for the sheer energy that flows when they perform. Jethro Tull were here in september/october 2000 and I went to the show - TOTALY AMAZING. I also have A video tape of them perform from 1977,and I have to say that little has changed(In a Good way). Too bad It's not the same way with pink floyd. as for The Who, I have their 14 tracks
25th anniversary Remastered edition of "Live at Leeds" 1970, and the show totaly sweeps you off! And as for Genesis, I have several Video tapes of them performing with peter, you need to see it to believe it,and dozens of CD/CDR Live Bootlegs, you got to hear it to believe it.

Re: General Forum

Anyway- there's a treat for any Yes or King crimson fans in the aforementioned film.
