"dumb", "annoying", "post without thinking" is too strong I think.
I don't know how can you think I am dumb, I wouldn't say that about somebody I have not met or talked to a lot. Yes, I posted some nonsense too, this is my fault, I confess, but it is not more than, say, 20 posts. And on the other hand, who can say that all he/she posted was 100% on topic and totally clear. Post without thinking, I'd like to see an example of my post where I was not thinking while writing it.

Also, don't take this as an excuse, maybe this is not an example of what you're referring to, but the fact that English is not my mother language can make me post something in good faith that I understood the post I'm referring to, language-wise.

"desperately want to belong". Everywhere wants to belong somehwere. The reason why I registered was that I wanted to improve my English while discussing with people who like the same music as I do about topics I'm interested in. And when such people think I'm dumb, I want to know why. Still, desperately want to belong refers only to belong "with you" (don't know the right way to say this). I think. If there was a group of 5 people you don't know, that just registered and get on well with each other, it may seem to you that they want to belong with you, but in fact they're enjoying to talk among themself. I think this is the case of many members here.

I guess you sadly trying to jump in on every inside joke, which you have no clue, is not wanting to belong. I guess you attempting to defend yourself even now, is not another attempt at wanting to belong.

I never once said a thing about your English skills. Many members here do not speak English fluently, yet they still contribute.

Not every, by far, but that's not the matter. When I post, I think I have the clue. Plus there are lots of "semi-inside" jokes I take part in, if you think of an inside joke as a joke between you, GeraldTheMouse, thorin13, Dr Cheese, PearlWaters, Illuvatar, stratman and lots of more, who are making a "community inside a community". The, as you call it, "defending myself" is a way for me to clear what you said. You probably take it as wanting to belong, because in comparison with you, I'd like us to eventually fully understand and respect each other. I think you'd be the happiest when I quit the board or at least do not post to any thread which would resemble some "inside joke" or be only for the "inner community"?

You know how you have an older brother or sister, and they have their friends come over, and they don't like ya hanging around them? It's like that...

Or, like when your parents have company over, and they are talking, and they want you to go find something to do? It's like that...

Not that you're not family, there's just a huge gap in life experience. Not that you're not intelligent, it's just a difference in the way adults and teens conversate and carry themselves. That's all. Some people tolerate it more than others.

Thank you PearlWaters, I understand your point, but I take it as offense, because I just wouldn't say what he says. I'll wait for NNJ's response (if there will be any). What would you do being in my situation? I mean, this place is for everybody, isn't it? So I could say it's not my problem that he doesn't like me, because I never did anything evil to him and if he's disturbed by me or other people being here, he must cope with it. It's not such a problem I think. For instance everybody here must cope with the fact, that any peaceful thread may be infested by Gerald/thorin/Dr Cheese 's "inner jokes". I don't mind them. If he won't cope with it, the only solution is creating a second forum - one for NNJ and people he likes and second for people he dislikes. (this last sentence is a joke).

I don't like you, no amount of your trying to convince me that you are likeable is going to change that. The only thing that will change that is if you, or me, have a huge change in behavior and attitude.

I really have no personal problem with you 90% of the time, you've said some things that I found annoying, and some things actually directed at me to incite a reaction. But otherwise, I simply meant this post as a warning to people in the future, who say things like "NNJ and Gerald are my favorite members here" only to get upset when they find themselves the target of our attention.

I never mentioned you by name ( though I do not appreciate comments made about my age or grumpiness). Why are you taking offense to all this.

Finally, I would never expect people I don't like to leave, what would I do for entertainment?

I always find it funny when new members say something like 'NNJ and thorin are hilarious!' and then when NNJ and thorin start picking on that person, that person gets irate and refuses to understand that there's some sort of humor involved. I'm also rather tired of every welcoming-the-new-member thread containing, somewhere within, the phrase 'Beware the Cheese.' Lastly if you plan on poking fun at one of the established members-- which you are entirely welcome to do-- please be aware that we have a vast amount of experience in poking fun at people on the Internet and you will, most likely, not win the exchange, but that doesn't mean that we are cruel or elitest.

I said I don't like you, I don't suggest you change a thing. Not everyone is going to like everyone.

If you say something stupid, or possibly offensive to me, expect a reaction. Granted, I may not be the nicest person in the world, get over it, not everyone is nice.

I still enjoy the entertainment. They can always leave on their own accord, though I would prefer that if I offend them that much they'd tell me so privately. Despite what everyone thinks, I do not hate everyone.
