Question Your favorite song from either of the two latest cds in terms of lyrics only?

?

Personally, I like The Division Bell in terms of lyrics a lot more than AMLoR, but I think some songs on AMLoR are decent... like On the turning away, A New Machine, and Sorrow. On TDB, I like Coming Back to Life the most, followed by Keep Talking and Wearing the Inside Out.

You?

I really like the lyics (the whole song for that matter) to "Coming Back to Life".

Note my sig as well.

Re: Your favorite song from either of the two latest cds in terms of lyrics only?

"Sorrow" and "Learning to Fly" can both read as poetry. They're brilliant stuff. I read a post on an old site by this guy who plaigarized the entire lyric to Learning To Fly. His english teacher thought he was a genious.

BDG sure got a nice horde of people to write lyrics.

"High Hopes" and "Wearing The Inside Out" aren't as good by themselves, but they describe their respective situations and emotions succintly.

I must agree with Fulghum, though. "Coming Back to Life" is brilliant. (part of this reasoning has to do with my personal life and my depressions) When I listen to that song, it truly makes me happy. It's great. May sound corny, but ah, I'm yet to go without making that kind of statement in...what is it? 12 now? :o

Eh, right. I managed to deviate from the subject. Go, me.

Speaking of Learning to Fly, what is that song about?

Re: Your favorite song from either of the two latest cds in terms of lyrics only?

David Gilmour and Nick Mason were both actually "learning to fly" (aeroplanes) at that time (it's Nick's voice you hear speaking during the song) so the meaning is quite simple. Probably it's also symbolic for the band (and particularly Dave) "learning to fly" on his own, without Roger's drive. Or at least that's what I think.
