Tough choice. I'm reversing my choice from the other thread by choosing Animals. Just 'cause as an album, it's awesome from first note to last. WYWH, IMO, is not as solid all the way through.

Even if somebody did post this, who cares... a fresh post/poll doesn't hurt anybody Tough choice for me... but I went with Wish you Were Here, only because of Shine On and title track.... tho Animals has really been growing on me more lately.

Hard to say...but I picked Animals because I just remember listening to that album the most out of the two. I love _all_ of the songs on both albums, thats why this decision was very hard to make.

WYWH, hands down. Their all-time masterpiece, Shine On, and a Classic like the title track. Plus, two great songs, and the best contributions from each member of the band. Immortal album.

Animals is a much more complete album, all the songs gel together so much better than WYWH, particularly the middle 3. Not to take away from WYWH, i like every song on that album, but it's slightly weaker on the whole.

Both great albums.. I think two of their best. I went with Animals. Musically they are on par with each orther. I like the concept and theme of Animals better. WYWH is just another lamentation for Syd. Animals speaks to the nature of man..

I like animals better then WYWH because I really like the sound of dogs and the lyrics. Pigs (three different ones) is awsome.

I thought I posted on this already, but here it is again (or for the first time): I went for WYWH, because while I like Animals a lot also, things in the band were starting to get a tad rotten, and you can tell in the album. The lyrics in Animals are like one big long rant, and WYWH sounds so much more.....pure. A prog rock masterpiece. You can't beat Shine On, also.

Shine On is the best song that emerged from Pink Floyd. And Animals is a fantastic album too, just,....SHINE ON (and it doesn't hurt that Have a Cigar kicks ass)

Wish You Were Here has a little advance I think, but only a little. Hard to decide.

I lean more towards Animals--after all it does have one of the three songs that is tied for my favorite song of all time on it--"Sheep". Besides, Animals showcases a impressive flurry of fury from Roger surpassed only by his display of angst on The Wall. But of course, Wish You Were Here is pretty good too--the title track is awesome, "Have a Cigar" has one of their best bass parts, and "Shine On" is too monumental an epic for words. I guess the reason I chose Animals over Wish You Were Here is really because of "Welcome to the Machine"--I just don't think it's quite as strong as the rest of the album.
