wall movie soundtrack- better than the wall?

hey, this may have already been covered, but i couldn't find it on the search engine, which is better?the wall, or the soundtrack to the film?i know it's mostly the same, except for WTTBF, Hey You, etc., song order, n d soundtrack is one disc, but i feel that the soundtrack is superior, especially if u take it in the context of the movie itself, which i consider to be a very fine work.
anyway, what do u guys think?

I like the wall album more because it doesn't have Bob Geldof on it. (twitch) But I like When the Tigers Broke Free

While I also think that maybe the soundtrack supports the movie more, it isn't much to listen to. The alternate versions are interesting and all, but I just can't beat the original. Though it is fun to blare the movie version of In The Flesh really loud in a dark room. In a creepy way. Fun in a creepy way, that is. Both versions have pros and cons, but I'm leaning towards the album side more.

The good things on the soundtrack are WSWDN?, When The Tigers Broke Free and alternate version of Mother. Otherwise it's basically just the same, so I don't know why should it be better. I still think ITAOT is the definitive version of The Wall.

It was worth trading for my DVD audio rip of the soundtrack just for WSWDN?.

I just hate the movie version of Mother and WTTBF is one of the worst songs in the PF catalogue.

It's not that bad. The worst songs are Sysyphus parts 2 and 3

I quite like Sysyphus part 2. Not so part 3.

ramble ramble album v. soundtrack

you said that you liked the movie a lot,,, and chances are, if you've seen it a great number of times, you'll probably end up liking the soundtrack better, simply bacause the arrangement on the album, does not follow the same song arrangement in the movie. i really like the way that the songs are arranged on the album, they end up blending together in some areas, where as if the soundtrack did not follow the order of the movie you might not appreciate it because its not what your familiar w/.
the sound tracks plus however would probably come from having "when the tigers broke free" a song i really like, and the extended version of 'empty spaces" is pretty good, but i think is better suited for the animated sequences in the movie, and not nearly as good as the original which flows well into "young lust"---but the biggest difference will prably come from 'in the flesh" which, if your used to hearing bob geldof sing it, then you might want to stick w/ his version of it on the soundtrack/

ok i'm done now.

I saw the movie first, and then I got the album, and I prefer the album.
Two things, though:
1)I did like Bob Geldof
2) I liked the movie's 'Empy Spaces', wish I could get it on an album.

I thought the soundtrack to the movie was better. Kind of different from the album I liked it.

The full version of Empty Spaces and "What Shall We Do Now?" is on both the Live ITAOT? and The Live In Berlin 1990 albums.

(I recommend ITAOT?)

The album sucks. Nuff said.

If we could get ITAOT with Bob's vocals from the movie, that would be paradise.

Thumbs up

Both are great. I also like the 1990 concert version in Berlin.
(But, I gotta say, I like the film's versions of "In The Flesh" and "Run Like Hell" better than the album versions ["Run Like Hell" was edited differently, and the synthesizer solo after the second verse on the album was mixed into the second verse in the movie. Very Cool! But I don't like that "Would you like to send our colored cousins home again, my friend?" was mixed out of the film's edit of "Waiting For The Worms."])
