Ditto that, I've played it quite a few times, and really dig it.

Just a great record all around, if you get down to it.

You know, when you get to the detail.

You've got a horrible mind.

Disco Volante is one of the most insane records I've ever heard! It's right up there with Trout Mask Replica and Metal Machine Music. I now know that there was once a glimmer of light in the music industry of the 90s. I highly recommend it it you like ADD-fueled genre hopping like Faust. This was what Zappa would have done if the Mothers of Invention reunited in the 90s, and everyone had progressively got better at their instruments. A must-listen for anyone with a brave ear.

There is nothing I've heard like them. I heard their first album is kinda Zappa-esque ska/funk/metal, but their second and third albums are completely unique. They can switch between genres at the drop of a hat and with the greatest of ease. They play everything from heavy metal to free jazz to surfer rock to doo wop to creepy circus music, and all with a dash of humor thrown in. If you are a beginner, I suggest listening to California first, which is sorta accessible. If you can survive that, then take a deep breath and dive into the insane tour-de-force that is Disco Volante.

Here are some bands that kinda resemble them: Frank Zappa, Faust, Captain Beefheart, John Zorn, The Residents.

Re: Mr. Bungle

Unbridled schizophrenic genius.

Disco Volante is an incredible journey through warped soundscapes.
