Actually, the three "little" songs in the middle are the only reason for owning AHM, you may find the other 30 minutes a waste, while, I believe, OBC is good as a whole.

Get AHM. It's one of my fav. albums. The title track is just amazing. It's very classic. There's a symphony orchestra, a blowing orchestra and a choir. Than there are 3 very good tracks with good lyrics and at the end... Alan eating his breakfast

Personally, I prefer Obscured by Clouds to Atom Heart Mother, but if you can get your hands on any bootlegs with live versions of AHM, Fat Old Sun, etc, watch out! They absolutely rock! BTW, has anyone heard any live versions of OBC songs? I haven't heard any yet, and I would expect them to be good. -Led

I have lately been listening to a bootleg, a rather poor boot of "Pink Floyd Live at St Ouen, Paris, France 72-12-01" that has a couple tracks from OBC as well as some from Meddle and DSOTM. The band jams away as expected and it's only the poor recording with terrible editing that let's the experience down. Doesn't stop me playing it on the PC while I get on with other things, of course. It contains several versions of Childhood's End for some strange reason and a wicked Obscured By Clouds.
