Re: hi persons

I never even had one. Maybe I should start my own to make up for it.

Re: hi persons

All this discussion on punk probably should have been contained in another thread. In a few years when this thread is buried among the other unreplyed threads, someone's going to bring up punk. And then we've got a dup thread to worry about.
Curse the thought!

Re: hi persons

i think duplicate threads are okay if the original was done something like a year before. New members join and they're not gonna search the forum archives for what they're looking for, they wanted handed to them.

Re: hi persons

Newbies who want things handed to them without any effort on their own part are as likely to get what they want as an ice cube's chances in hell.

And duplicate threads are NOT okay, regardless of the age of the original.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Re: hi persons

Probably doesn't help to have irreverent titles, either.

Re: hi persons

Nah. That doesn't matter unless the title is offensive.

Re: hi persons

But then people who try to search for subjects can't find them and make a thread because the thread they're looking for is called "Help Me", "I have a question", "This makes me mad" or something that doesn't describe the subject of the thread. No offense to anyone who created a thread using these titles.........

Re: hi persons

Yes, well there is a problem with such vaguely titled threads, but there's no way of avoiding those, or any other kind of post, and it doesn't stop us bitching about them either.

That subject was probably discussed somewhere else, anyway.

Re: hi persons

I think, eventually, every thread runs over another one, because even though a thread doesn't start out as a duplicate, they may evolve into one. You know what I mean?

Re: hi persons

Yeah. I don't think most threads stay on topic for a long time. Though I'm sure there are some. I guess the Word Association Game one counts.

Re: hi persons

This thread is a good example. Wasn't this a "hi" thread to begin with?
