| Fulg, my man, I just ran across this thread. My wife and i got an '03 durango in march '04, midnight blue 5.9L, we love it. We took it out to my brothers in tulsa, just a great ride, I thought it would be terrible on gas, it wasn't bad at all. Of coarse, after 50K mi I'll put duralube in it, and it'll last a long long time. Duralube is the best stuff on earth, I got 500k out of a 305 monte carlo, it'd wouldn't have seen 150k without it. Ours was $25k, but with the trade in (Intrepid) and deposit we financed it at $14k. BTW, I personally have found american cars are the best due to the fact that the parts are dirt cheap, and if you learn how to do some of the mechanic work yourself, price per mile is lower than anything on the market. If you're not mechanically inclined, this theory does not hold up well. I paid $3k for said monte and put $1000 into it over 7 years, 4 grand total, I put 400k miles on it, after doing the math you can't beat it, well you can but it don't have a 4 barrel and do 130 mph easily! Yeah, american car's force you to work on them but the reward is so much greater in the form of costing less per mi. over entire ownership/car lifetime. I only buy chevy's and dodge's cause i know how to repair them. We should compare notes, on our identical vehicles, every once in awhile. p.s. if you ever see a blue durango with a red wings emblem 18" x 32", it's me. Happy trails. |
