Talking Bassists!

Hmmm....I'm new here and just wanted to see how many of my kind were here. So...Right, I have a Peavey International Series Dyna Bass (see picture), I generally use a Carlsbro 75 watt 8 ohmme amp...I'm constantly changing my settings, I like to cary from high percussion sounds to clear crisp bassy sounds and everything in between. I have a preference for finger picking and I like slap bass though I can't play it too well...:s [any tips?] that's about it...
+What bass do you own?
+Amps?
+Favourite Bassist
+Playing and Setting preferences...

TELL ME GODDAMIT!! -x-

Re: Bassists!

I'm not in a serious band, so I don't have a very good amplifier. But I am a serious bassist

I own:

Hamer 5-string Cruise (Blue) Electric Bass Guitar
Fender 4-string BG-29 (Natural) Acoustic Bass Guitar
Fender 60 watt Bassman amplifier

I'm rock n roll bass player -- I use a pick. I can play fingered bass too, but prefer the pick. I don't bother with slap because it's really not my style.

My fave bassists: Justin Chancellor (Tool), Mike Inez (Alice in Chains) and Robert Trujillo (Metallica, but I know him from Jerry Cantrell's Degradation Trip album)

Re: Bassists!

i like to mess around on the bass, getting a new one soon

i like to play along to zep, sometimes floyd, and what ever else im listening to... radiohead, tool.. whatever.

i think flea (rhcp) is amazingly skilled, but as ToF, slap isnt me style. i like both finger and pick.. as there have been some very influential bassists in history: roger waters not withstanding of course. paul mccartney was a great bassist.
