Hey,

So did y'all see the latest news? Davig Gilmour will be performing a one-night only concert at the Royal Festival Hall in London, in June 22th. That was music for my ears, and I immediately went to buy my ticket before they were gone. I got a nice seat at the third box on the right side (if you are facing the show, that is), in the first row! And just after I finished ordering I noticed there weren't any tickets left on that section! They definately went REAAAAAAAALLY fast!

Anyway, now I'm researching plane tickets and a youth hostel where can I stay. After all, London is very expensive and I want to save my money for visits to floydian places, such as Grantchester Meadows and the Regent Street Polytechnic where Nick, Rog and Rick met. I'll try and stay 7-10 days if I can.

So is anybody else going to this concert? What are you expecting? I believe Dave will play about 30% of his own songs (from his two solo albums, which I love) and 70% of Floyd. Maybe some covers, who knows?

Also, do you have any suggestions of places to see in London and nearby, specially floydian places? I'd certainly enjoy any suggestions!

Floydian Cheers,
Paulo

Green is the Colour I am feeling right now. Where are you going there from anyway? Would you be in our beloved North America or the wonderful continent of Europe where all good music comes from?

I can't wait to hear about it Dallagnol!
The concert as well as all those groovy Floydian sites you are going to visit first hand!
Be sure to start a journal when you go so you can share your experience with us poor unfortunates who can only dream of such an adventure.

You bet I'll start a journal, and I'll also bring a camera and take picture of all the floydian places I visit so I can share this experience with you all.

Radiochair, I'll be leaving Brazil probably on the 19th or 20th. I'm still checking the airfares, so I can get a nice deal. I'll let y'all know of my schedule as soon as I have it ready Before you ask, I have lived in the US for a while and I intend to move there as soon as I have the chance. Nive country...

Cheers,
Paulo

Well, for now all I'm having are bad news. The exchange rates all went up about 20% which means the trip will be really expensive since London is not the cheapest place on earth. And I can't find any cheap airfares, either. I spent last night writing to TV stations and magazines to see if they were interested in making a special out of it, and then pay for my costs. Of course I didn't mention that part! Let's see what's gonna happen!

Cheers,
Paulo

Airline tickets are unbelievably high where i am. To get to the nearest city of a respectable size it costs about $1500 normal fee. It's unbelievable.

See, most of Canada does have good prices. You need to remember that I'm in a desolate wasteland of an area of Canada. The price of living is extremely expensive. I bought a 2-litre carton of milk and it costed $7.50.
