The pie is sliced thinly and each contribution gets a slice... not contributor. One slice for production, One slice for writing, One slice for performace, One slice for arrangements, etc, etc, etc.. So for a song like say, Comfortably Numb, Mr Gilmour and Mr Waters would get about three or four slices each (Writing, performing, arrangement, production....) Oh yes, then lets not forget about the publishing rights, performance residuals, ...ugggghh It's a complex and messy process... that's why you see so many damn Lawyers and Accountants running around record comapny offices. When last I heard I believe Mr Gilmour was edging out Mr. Waters by a few hundred K...but they both are wealthy enough to not worry about it much...

I would have thought Gilmour is much richer considering all Waters did after The Final Cut was a financial (not critical) flop whilst Gilmour enginneered the highly successful AMLOR and DB and the respective tours

Dave probably does have the most. Besides the Successful AMLOR, DSoT, TDB & PULSE albums and tours and royalties, he has FAR FEWER ex-wives to have to placate. (at least compared to Rog)

I'd say Mason isn't doing so bad for himself, considering he has one of the most valuable car collections in the world. Dave has more money than he knows what to do with. He's given a lot of it to charity. Rick is a wise old chap. I'd be willing to be that he's invested his money pretty well. Roger? Well, last I heard, he was going to start production on a series of limited edition lifevests. ~Fletch

According to the Sunday Times' 2004 "Rich List," Roger is worth about £78million. This is significantly lower than the previous year's figure which followed his post-World Tour windfall. This downturn in fortune (!) is probably owing to a recent divorce settlement which is believed to have cost him about £22million. Even so, David Gilmour is still behind him with £75million. Last year Dave donated around £4million from the sale of his London home to Crisis. However both of them give generously (and usually anonymously) to their preferred charities. Nick is behind Dave with £50million, a staggering £20million of that is invested in his incredible car collection. Rick wasn't on the list, although he had been in previous years... the rich have been getting MUCH richer in Britain recently.
