hey dallagnol wat are the original lyrics to echoes, i would like to know cos its always good to know wat the songs might once have been, i have heard the comfortably numb demo and am glad it wasnt that.

Also - are you talking about the lyrics that were written BEFORE the one's that are now in Echoes?

Because if you just want the lyrics go to "Official Releases" on the left and go to Meddle "Complete Lyrics".

I haven't hear of any earlier versions of Echoes, but i'm sure someone else here has.

Charade, Echoes was different at what time, and no I don't know what they are, I agree tho, he should have gone to another topic, perhaps the one on Meddle?

Thank you Charade, and those of you who let me know in private, but I am aware that my sig is wrong. At the moment I wrote it out it seemed right, but later I realized it was wrong. Yes I could have changed it, but I chose rather to stick with my mistake.

Not only that but how many of us have been at a concert only to hear a band sing their own lyrics wrong?

I think I finally managed to tease out the original lyrics to the first verse of Echoes by listening to a concert from June 1971 over and over. Totally personal interpretation, but I swear on the Holy Book Of Your Choice that this is the closest I can make out:



Planets sitting face to face

If endlessly we might embrace

Give perfect night the sun's revenge

They're slightly pants as far as lyrics go. I can see why they changed from night to night until Roger finalized them.
