Wizard of Oz / DSotM

Was it the drugs in college or was that for real?? I have heard many stories how wrong I am that these two coincide to create a weird hypnotic spell. I still think it's cool no matter what!

Does the synch work well? Where I am I can't get my hands on a copy of Wizard of Oz without buying it so I haven't checked it out. I've only seen the 2001 synch, which is one of the greatest cinematical experiences of my life.

I found the Dark Side of Oz experience to be much different from the 2001 synch. In the later, the whole mood was setting the tone of the experience, more than lyrics or anything. Of course the original lyrics to Echoes would have fit it majestically well, but with the lyrics we find on the Meddle CD I wouldn't say so. On the other side, with The Dark Side of Oz you have to be paying attention to any relationship between the movie and the album. Being the mood of the music matching the scene, the smooth transitions-synchs, and specially (in my opinion) the lyrics. The lyrics make a lot of sense in a lot of scenes.

You should definately try to grab a copy of the Wizard of Oz and try this out. I usually rent it from a Blockbuster-kinda store around. At first I could only find the one with all the voices translated to Portuguese, but finally I could watch it with subtitles and it was a lot better!

Cheers,
Paulo

Sure, I'll just walk over there now. It'll only take a year and a half or so. Being in track and field though, I should be able to cut that in half.

I'd say it's almost worth walking for a year and a half to watch this synch, so go for it!

Paulo

Radiohead,

I can't think of why you would think I'd do that. As you can see, this site has a links page for the very reason of showing other sites to our users. Pink Floyd is such a vast subject that we cannot cover it all. We do our best, but we're far from complete, and that's where other sites come in. I don't picture other Pink Floyd sites as "competition". I do picture them as other cool webmasters who took their time, if like me thousands of hours, to build their personal "shrine" to their favorite band. If I was doing this for money, my friend, I would have quit a long time ago. Until now I haven't gotten any money out of this, and don't plan to in the future, either. I am hoping next month I'll be able to pay the costs of webhosting, domains and everything else, thanks to those banners you're seeing in the top and bottom part of your screen.

I'd really like if you kept on visiting our site, but if you want to wander to other sites, not a problem at all. You should really start with our links page for we have selected some good sites there. Maybe you can even point out some cool stuff you found on other sites and think we should add here as well.

Cheers,
Paulo

After reading all your posts about this particular sync, I went home and did this sync. I was amazed at how smoth it was. Kind of makes you wonder if Roger was some how doing this on purpose. It is just amazing. Even my wife, who doesn't care for Floyd all that much thought it was just a little uncanny, but she did enjoy it. Looks like I found something else to do to make her listen to Floyd.
