Yes, SRV makes playing the guitar look effortless. If you want a good cd, get a live performance of SRV with Double Trouble. I have a live version of Stevie playing Voodoo Chile (slight return). It's better than Jimi in my opinion.

SRV can play a nasty Texas Flood as well.

Re: New Rolling Stone Mag-100 Greatest Guitarists

I guess these lists are just all opinion. My friends now hate Blender because of their '50 Worst Bands Ever' list (which is kinda dumb... ELP at #2? Come on!), but I think they put the Doors and other 'accepted' bands on there just to get a rise out of people - and to sell issues.

We could argue all day here.

I was just thinking the same. To put The White Stripes guy way up there seems like some sort of hidden agenda to me.

It saddens me too. I mean, I bribed them... err, 'donated' to have us put on the list. Not that we didn't deserve it, anyway.

Fine I'll go hear Elephant right now. I'm not saying the guy isn't any good, but to beat out some of the greatest of all time seems kinda strange.

You guys need a backup singer/tamborine girl. Maybe if you're lucky I'll join you.

Re: New Rolling Stone Mag-100 Greatest Guitarists

I always have trouble with those kinds of lists because it seems really wierd to mix these guitarists from different times and different eras and styles of music. It's strange to see Dick Dale and, I don't know, Kirk Hammet in the same list.
