Re: METALLICA!!!! thread

That is their best song. I like to play both For Whom the Bell Tolls and Fade to Black, back to back, over and over.

Re: METALLICA!!!! thread

Metallica...crap! Nothing but a bubblegum coated "heavy metal" band. "And Justice For All" and anything earlier was good. The rest was written by an 87 year old women who lives in Florida trying to make ends meet by writing childrens songs.
Lars...what a jack@$$. And what kind of name is "Lars" anyway?

You did mean to append 'In my opinion' to all that, right?

Re: METALLICA!!!! thread

Yes, because we here at APFFN like to respect the rights of others to hold whatever opinions they so desire, especially in regards to something as subjective as musical taste. Thus, even if you despise Metallica, some members may very well think that Metallica are the greatest thing ever to happen to music. Your scathing post could come off as an attempt to invalidate someone else's taste and/or opinions, and thus isn't very kind. Remembering to note that opinions are just that often saves a lot of time that would otherwise have been eaten up in useless arguing.

Re: METALLICA!!!! thread

Ouch! I did not mean to strike a nerve.
If it so pleases the jury, IMO, Metallica (as it is today) is nothing what it was years ago. I've just grown old of the promises of "getting back to the roots of Metallica" when it never seems to happen.
Is that better?

Re: METALLICA!!!! thread

I don't like Metallica.
They're far too comercial for my taste. They had a few great moments (Sad but true, Nothing else matters...), but I totally dislike them because of the Napster incident (how greedy can you get?) and their childish stories of their wild youth.
It just makes me laugh when James tells "true" stories about young girls fathers and brothers chasing him because of his one-night advenure
oh,yeah, and this new album is a total piece of sh*t (like most of their after the "Black Album" material=,not even metalheads can enjoy it.

Just my thoughts

No. If you look back in history, I always make fun of people who claim that their opinions are facts.
