sinking island

i have had the new album "on an island" from the day of it's release. I haven't
seen it printed yet but i will say it now, this album is weak, weak, WEAK. I listened to this album for about 4 days straight at work when i first got it, and my first thought was, "can I get my money back for this". I decided to give it one more try today at work and I still think the same way. I hope you all don't ask for my APFFN membership card back, but i can't help thinking that if this album didn't have David Gilmour's name on it it wouldn't sell 100,000 copies. There is some good guitar on here, but it doesn't carry the album, and most of the songs are very ho-hum. Is this just me or are there more people out there with the same feeling?

Re: sinking island

As with AMLOR, DSOT, TDB and PULSE, this album was bought for me and after the first hearing, I haven't played it since. It is very weak.

Keep your APFFN card as there's nought wrong with you...IMHO.

Re: sinking island

There's some lame shit on it, fer shur.

A couple of decent tracks, but Dave going on about the wife and kids and walks in the woods don't do it for me.

Believe what you will. It doesn't change the fact some of us Floyd fans find BDG's latest solo offering as nothing less than sub-standard.

We are, as you, entitled to hold the opinions we do without being judged or dismissed by the less than discerning fans of BDG's solo fartstorms.
