Gilmour a smoker?? good w/ the ladies??

Hi everyone.
Does anyone know if David Gilmour smoked cigarettes?
I always thought he was a non-smoker, but then I saw a fuzzy picture of him w/ what appeared to be a cigarette in his hand.
I heard he also quit smoking after his perceived poor singing on one of the WYWH album songs.
I heard David liked the reefer but really want to know if he smoked tobacco...

P.S. Anyone know if David got a lot of lovin' - being a rock star with big lips? Seems many ladies would do the nasty with young, skinny Gilmour

If David smoked I got to and if he scored with the ladies it is required that I do as well.

Check out the Pompeii footage to see if any of them are smoking. They all claimed to have toked on weed early on, so that's more news. And David has several children, so he's at least done "it" that many times, with undoubted fruitless practice in his younger years.

David does not smoke in Pompeii (at least to my recollection) nor does he get it on w/ any ladies.

I just poured over the album cover photo's on David Gilmour and About Face, Dave's two solo efforts. I see no evidence of smoking on either one, BUT.. There are more than a few attractive young ladies on there. And a few photos of Big Dave carrying and snuggling with Little folk (children); a known byproduct of sexual activity.

I think I recall hearing Dave was disgusted by his phlegmatic clearing out before the title track of WYWH and as a result quit smoking. Perhaps a myth.

And in one of the panning shots in Pompeii, particularly the meal scene, I think Rog can be spotted fist-inhaling. Rick as well has a lit cigarette during his piano bits on Us and Them. Dave, not so sure.

I knew pompeii was a source for proving that Roger and Rick smoke - it DOES NOT show any evidence of Gilmour being a tobacco smoker. Therefore you told me.... nothing.

While I don't have any truly solid evidence on hand, I can say this:

It would appear that David has smoked tobacco in an on-again, off-again sort of way... You almost never see him photographed with a cigarette (unless it seems to be one of the non-standard "happy" brands)... However, there is a photo of him, taken in his "bachelor" flat back around 1991, I believe, where an open pack of cigs can be seen on the table next to him. They could be his, they could be someone else's...

It's a pity if they're his, I think... Smoking does such damage to such a lovely voice, you know...
