Re: Discuss the 2003 APFFN mod election!

I really haven't much to say, but I suppose I should "throw my hat in the ring", as it were. I guess I assumed everyone knew I accepted my nomination (thanks Pearly, Shane, Rabid Monkey, and fairjess) because given the opportunity to moderate I'd jump all over it. Obviously, no one would know this if I hadn't said so. I vow to not be so narrowminded in my moderating. Nevertheless, I am a loyal member of the fora and try as hard as I can to get along with most everyone, but am also concerned with running things smoothly for those who really just want to have a good time with the place. If doing as such entails the expulsion of members who have been constantly and rightly complained about, I will do my best to deal with the situation as justly as possible and at the discretion of what I believe would be the majority's (and above all, Paulo's) wishes. In constantly, faithfully, and almost daily visiting the forums, I've done my best to carefully monitor how our currently fabulous mods have managed their jobs. I hope I will be able to emulate their success.

Thank you and good luck to all.

Re: Discuss the 2003 APFFN mod election!

We have a lot of people presenting good cases here, I'd just like to say that.

My voting is already done--and yes, BoaB, I did respect your wishes. I do not feel it's right to force something on a person who doesn't want that thing.

Careful not to celebrate too soon. I'm not sure how much good it'll do you.

If he didn't really want to do it, then there would be much less complicated ways of throwing in the towel I'd say!

Just making you laugh some more Byron.

Wonderful wonderful words that Ikky. Good luck to you, Foldger's and the rest of the gang.

Re: Discuss the 2003 APFFN mod election!

Au contraire, ma cher, Pearls.

I only agreed to become a moderator in the first place if, and only if, the membership at large voted me into that position. I agreed to accept the outcome of that election a year ago - Hark! The smell of burning martyr! - and will only continue to do so as long as I have the backing of the membership through any subsequent election.

Of course, if I am not voted in again, then I won't have to worry, will I?

If this desire of mine causes undue complications with the election, I am sorry, but I will only ever moderate here with the express permission through election of the voting membership, and of course, with the approval of Paulo.

I know you're just kidding, but just to prevent misunderstandings...

Byron is a strange combination of extreme laziness and dutifulness. He genuinely is tired of this job - not that he doesn't enjoy the occasional muscle-flexing, as who wouldn't - but his attitude is one of returning to the community what he has gained from it. But he insists that he governs with the consent of the governed, as admiration of your peers is much more fulfilling than simple authority.

Believe me, a much better choice than me.

Mate, mate, mate....

How could you not be loved here? I have it on excellent authority (Sydney) that you're a real cool cat and infinitely lovable. fixxlevy thinks you're okay so that's recommendation enough for me, so shut it.

Rob: Thanks a complete sh*t, old pal.

I thought about it myself, but I figured I'd get a better laugh seeing your response. Which it was.
