RIP The Man In Black

i know everyone by now has probably heard more than enough about this, but i just wanted to say...

Johnny Cash
Rest In Peace

he died in Nashville, TN, about 2 hours north of my town. i think the locals and myself might take a road trip soon to visit his resting place. i've been a fan since childhood and i admit, its quite a depressing loss to many people including myself, but i feel that wherever he is, his wife is by his side. and that makes me smile.

too many legends passing away,
too many popstars being born.

take care, all.

Johnny Cash was awesome. Someone name another country musician who could cover a NIN song.

As a child I grew up in Tennesses and Kentucky. My father was from Jackson Tennessee, and my mother, from Springfield Illinois, both country music fans.

I was brought up watching the Porter Waggoner show, Hee Haw, Sunday Morning Jubilee.....and seeing JC on all of them. I remember when Cash was arrested and jailed, my mom cried. I remember when Mother Maybelle died.

Although never a big fan of country myself, I was attracted to the "dark side" of Country, Hank Williams, Carl Perkins, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and more Recently Dwight Yokam. Without a doubt, Cash was the godfather of them all.

He was more tha just a Country Music talent. He should be remembered with the greatest Ameican artist of the 20th Century. His music spoke to the commanlality of us all, That each of us, no matter what our station in life, is but a breath away from less fortunate circumstances. Our strength lies in our compassion for each other.

He will be missed.

Last night I had a jam party for about eight friends that all play guitar. We spoke of Cash, and our sorrow. Someone began playing "Ghost Riders in the Sky". We all joined in and did one of the best renditions I have been a party to. Nobody said it, but that one was for you Johnny....

The newest Ghost Rider....

Yippie Eye Ayyyy....

That is one of my favorite songs:
"Brands were still on fire
and their hooves were made of steel."

..So cowboy change your ways today,
or forever you will ride
trying to chase that devil herd
across these endless skies...

RIP, Johnny.
