| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets I'm fairly convinced I've got some mistakes here, and I'd like to make sure this is all correct on my website. Vocal Credits: "Let There Be More Light": RWr...and WHO is that? Is it Mr. Gilmour? Or is it ALL Mr. Wright? "Remember a Day": RWr. Of course. "Set the Controls": RW. But here's what I think I'm missing on my website. Anyone have Broken China? That soft "Aaaah" part...remind anyone of the opening to "Far from the Harbour Wall"? Opinions on this possible missing credit? "Corporal Clegg": I am REALLY confused here. Feel free to argue this one out. I don't even know WHAT I've got on my site! "A Saucerful of Secrets": The Ummagumma version is pretty obvious. But check the Celestial Voices thread for a question about the studio version...I'm not sure it should be credited to Mr. Gilmour... "See-Saw": Mr. Wright. Of course. "Jugband Blues": Mr. Barrett. Who else? ![]() ---- Please post all of your opinions on this (except for the "Celestial Voices" matter) to this thread. Also, a question just out of curiosity for those of you who are better attuned to the guitar styles than me: Which tracks are DG and which ones are SB? I have some hunches, but I'm not sure at all!

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets Well, I'd say that on Corporal Clegg, it's Gilmour ("Corporal Clegg, had a wooden leg...") and Waters ("he won it in the war..."). And about the guitar, I've heard that SB only sings on Jugband Blues (can you believe it? ) and Remember A Day. The rest is DG.![]() |

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets On Clegg I believe that it's Rick and Roger that sings on it. Remember a Day is Rick Wright. 100% sure I am. |

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets i wouldn't say Mr. Wright's voice sounds like that. Compare Corporal Clegg vocals to Remember A Day or other RWr vocals. I don't think they are the same! ![]() |

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets Compare Remember A Day to Paintbox or Mathilda Mother. Syd only sang on 1 song on Saucerful. |

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets Yes. I first thought that on Let There Be More Light there is Rick and Roger. But it can be Gilmour too. Now I'm pretty sure it's Gilmour. Completely in the dark. ![]() |

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets Man, I just re-read my posts and I don't know what I was thinking! Corporal Clegg is Gilmour/Waters. Sleep depravation does this to you, you know? On More Light, it sounds to me like Dave/Roger but it could be Rick/Roger. Also in the dark. Where is the freakin light switch? |

| Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets It is, to my ear, VERY clearly Mr. Wright on "Let There Be More Light". And I think that the person who sings the refrain also sings on "Corporal Clegg" (but I can't tell for the life of me who that is). It seems to me as if Mr. Wright got onto ALMOST every song on that album (excepting "Corporal Clegg" and "Jugband Blues"). You can hear him very faintly even on "Set the Controls". That "aaah" part--that isn't Mr. Waters. I listened to ASoS for the first time after getting "Broken China", and when I heard that part, I could've SWORN I was hearing the intro to "Far from the Harbour Wall"! When I compared it to Pompeii (downloaded recently), where Mr. Waters clearly does ALL of the vocals...well, it seems to me that there's a big difference! _________________ "But now the day has broken, can see in better ways, A path leading to the light, a hope that never fades. | Re: Vocal Credits--A Saucerful of Secrets So, do you think Mr. Wright sings during the "Mrs. Clegg" sections of that song? If I had to assign him to a place on that, song, that's where I'd think it would be. One of the things I would be interested in is if someone else who owns Broken China could compare the background voice just before each chorus of "Set the Controls" ("aaahh...") to the intro to "Far from the Harbour Wall"...for instance, does Driven own this album, or eug'axe, and would be willing to give me a second and third opinion? Because to me, the similarity is just too striking...especially when you hear how different the Pompeii version is! _________________ "But now the day has broken, can see in better ways, A path leading to the light, a hope that never fades.
