Led Zeppelin

Just wondering who here likes Led Zepplin alot. And if you do like them...I was curious as to what your favorite songs or albums are? I would probably have to go with the following as my favorite songs from each album:

Zep I - Black Mountain Side
Zep II - Thank You
Zep III - Since I've Been Loving You
Zep IV - When The Levee Breaks
Houses - No Quarter
Grafitti - Kashmir
Presence - Nobodys Fault But Mine
Door - South Bound Suarez
Coda - Poor Tom

Favorite Album: Houses of the Holy

By the way...I did a search for this. I find it hard to believe this thread has never been started before.

Well it seems the link doesn't work. But it was a link to a Led Zepplin thread. Honest.

Edit: It's now working, so that wasn't a complete waste of time.

I love zeppelin. I only have IV and this weird greatest hits one i found at a record store. My favorite songs of theirs are Kashmir, Over the hills and far away, rock and roll, when the levy breaks, heartbreaker, and stairway to heaven. My friend bought the box set of their complete studio recordings

Perhaps the spelling of the band's name was in error in the search?

Nevertheless....no biggie

I've never been big on Zep, Robert Plant scares me.

But John Paul Jones is an incredible talent, IMHO.

damn straight terminal frost

btw this is my first post in this forum.

as a bass player, i find that JPJ is an incredible source of inspiration, unlike a certain one popular on this site.
his blues-rooted style is impeccable; no bassist should go without hearing a little bit of him.

and he's nice on the keys as well.

I agree. They are/were all very talented. Besides J P J, Bonham is
perannually cited as an all-time skin pounder, Page of course is in everyone's top 10.

They were great. Did great tunes.

I'm at a loss to explain why I never paid much attention to them.

Plant's hair and androgyne, I suppose. I thought he was a woman for a long time.

Welcome, Rambler!!

The Who
Pink Floyd
The Beatles

Don't get me wrong, I love LZ, they were one of the greatest.....ONE of the greatest...bands ever. But if your going to pick them apart, songwriting, instrument by instrument, and vocals.... The three I mentioned have 'em beat. IMHO....

I do feel that Led Zep was at their best longer than the Who was at their respective best. Led Zep was much more consistent.
