I was wondering if it is possible to put up our own avatars without them being sourced from a website. I see that lots of users have their own personal avatars and it would be good if every had the option to do the same.

No, this is just one of the ones that you can choose in the profile section. I want to be able to upload my own from my hard drive.

After you go to your user control panel, click on edit options...then scroll down of course, to change avatar.

You'll then get the page with all the avatar choices. At the very botton, there's a block that says: "You can upload an avatar from your computer______ BROWSE"...you click on this, and you can upload an avatar from your hard drive. 70x70pixels.
