Re: My Pink Floyd Night at the Cinematec

I remember about 2 years ago me & my friend, both floyd fans, saw in the newspaper an add
saying something like "An evening of Live & rare video clips of pink floyd at the Tel Aviv cinematec". WE both ordered tickets, and went to the show, which was a thusrday night, and the cinema hall was filled with pink floyd fans, looking to see and hear something really great!
Unfortunetly, It was all a fake.Besides a single Barret Video, the entire evening was composed of the Official "Pulse" Video and 2 songs from the Pompeii Video(I think they were "Carefull with that axe Eugene" & "Sacuerfull of secrets"). everybody complained about this great fraud, and nothing was left to do bot to sit and mumble the words together with david Gilmour's soundtrack...

What makes it worse is that my friend told me that He remembered an evening with Actual rare videos from the old days, which I didn't attend. Annoying, Isn't it?

Re: My Pink Floyd Night at the Cinematec

Back in Houston there was a Pink Floyd laser show. I only heard about it when I was back to Brazil, though. I talked to a friend who attended many times and she said it was really cool. Note it was a "she", so that counts as 3 floydian fans. Although she wasn't THAT much a fan, but still...

Cheers,
Paulo

Re: My Pink Floyd Night at the Cinematec

I saw a Dark Side of the Moon laser show at a planetarium in Toronto several years ago(several times).
It was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen and heard.

Hey D. I am a she and a huge floyd fan , so do the math for me. How many Floyd fans does that make?

Re: My Pink Floyd Night at the Cinematec

I meant three female floyd fans, counting with you and Marooned. Just expressed myself really bad, sorry about that.

Anyway, in a desperate way to get a Floyd laser show I once bought a portable laser machine that would beat to the music. Although not as impressive as I hoped, it was still pretty cool.

Cheers,
Paulo

Re: My Pink Floyd Night at the Cinematec

That's a pretty cool idea Dallagnol. I should try it one day.

I didn't even know that people held Pink Floyd laser shows. I guess in my deep isolation things get by my knowing somehow.

I also wish I lived in PA (if I know what that was)

Re: My Pink Floyd Night at the Cinematec

I'm from Ohio and there have been several laser shows.. they synchnonize "Dark Side" with the "Wizard of Oz" .. for like $3 you buy these 3D glasses that make it quite a trippy experience.. One I would recommend to any Floyd fan.. Nothing like them in concert mind you, but then what is?

Re: My Pink Floyd Night at the Cinematec

Someone mailed me after reading some stuff I'd posted on your site, saying , y'know, come and visit my site.
So I went to it and it was actually called something like"Acideatersthatliketotriptofloyd@yahoo.com".

Guees not everyone has access to those laser shows, huh?
