My vote is firmly on the side of the "just babbling" camp.

I always thought that "When The Tigers Broke Free" never existed. I read somewhere that Eric Fletcher Waters was an RAF man who was shot down over Italy. I never knew (till now that is) that his dad was an infantry man during the unforgetable Anzio campaign. I have the lyrics and all but never had the chance to listen to the song or watch The Wall. Really wish I could though!!

very highly recomended. reminds one more of the final cut than the wall though... which is more than alright by me.

Yeah- it's a lot less rock'n roll than the majority of The Wall, with that whole operatic thing he never quite got out of his system (The Dick).

Cheers,

Mark

peace

Re: When the Tigers Broke Free

It's on the special CD version of The Final Cut and was released as a single in 1982, with the B-side "Bring The Boys Back Home", and then on the Wall Movie (obviously) and probably some bootleg recordings or something

Back when he was merely "anonymous" hee hee

I recognized his prose before I saw his name at the bottom..

BTW, somewhere around here, I have a copy (7" vinyl -- 45 rpm) of the single "When the Tigers Broke Free", so I can verify that there are some floating around.

Shut it, you!

It does sound like a first post, doesn't it? Who was the other anonymous poster, the first reply? Could it have been fixxlevy?

Thanks?

I started this thread because the song in question remains one of my faves off this much maligned double album.

[5 years and two pages and nearly all on topic; a record? Who gives a ****?]
