Villain: Die or Turn Good?

ok guys, when you are wrapped up in a movie, television show, book etc. would you rather have the villain/bad guy be killed? or turned to the good side? I think it depends on the context, but most of the time i want them to die. Turning them good just adds a cheesy element to it.

Looking for comments in all the wrong places,
Joey

I want them to succeed, and get the girl. The loveable yet scary rogue

Dr. Lector in Hannibal is a good example.

I'm sick of seeing the villain get killed off all the time. Surely there must be more creative ways of ruining the villain's plans.

Or the much less scary but far more loveable, Cap'n Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean. He doesn't get the girl either.

Seven ended with the villain dead, in a different way than most.

Ever since Paradise Lost, the villain has been the best character in fiction. Let 'em win.

Yeah...good guys rule is sooo outdated!!!

I like the end of this movie "the usual suspect" where the bad guy (played by Kevin Spacey) walked away just like that from the police station. Great story
