Re: Favorite Recipies

I love Indian food. Being a vegetarian, I can always find something to eat at an Indian retaurant. Houston has many Indian restaurants, which I assume are authentic since they are owned and operated by Indian people. Got no recipes, though, although I have approximated Vegetable Biriyani in my kitchen, going solely on guesswork and that was pretty good.

It's worth trying.

Good idea.

I looked up in the yellow pages for a local authentic Indian Restaurant, but unfortunately, most are in "The People's Republic of Boulder" (40 miles away). 3 others are on the other side of the city, so I think I'll just pick a good-sounding receipe off the internet and give it a try.

Kim chee they call it here.

I love that stuff. It makes a really good sandwich if eaten with mayonnaise on white bread.

And, apparently, it prevents cancer. Heck, if I were cancer cells I'd stay well away from that stuff as well.

Re: Favorite Recipies

8 to 10 fresh Bratwurst.
1 can Guinnes Extra Stout
1 bottle Heineken
1 bottle Bass Ale.

Recipie 1)

Mix all three beers in stewpot, add brats. Parboil brats in beer (just bring to boil, then remove from heat). Allow Brats to steep in hot beer for two hours. Grill brats over open flame.

Recipie 2) Burn the brats, drink the beer.

First thing I thought of: Toss the wurst & drink the beer.

#1 does sound good.

Re: Favorite Recipies

I think Rob and I can remember attending a New Year's party where that concoction was served - UGH! I do hope, though, it didn't have MD20/20 in it - but they called it Purple Jesus and/or Rocket Fuel.

Later that night, I can barely remember driving very fast down the 10-mile highway from the base to the town without my headlights on.

Weeeee...uh, um...but that's bad, m'kay?

Re: Favorite Recipies

I think I had this amazing thing when I had gone for the German Mafia Weinachten party last year. It was colder than a witch's t*t but then Moritz (my man!) made the concoction of the century

Large mixing bowl (more like a cauldron of sorts). Pour large quantity of 182 proof alcohol. Set a grille on top and put gigantic lump of sugar. Pour more 182 and set fire. The sugar melts and falls into the 182 inside (how THAT didn't catch fire, I don't know). When the glasses were passed around for the prost I also remember that it had plenty of spices in it (dry spices. Not the powders). It was amazing.

I had four glasses and I was out for the night... almost. I'll try and get the recipie if I can but Mo is in Stuttgart Maybe one of the other Mafiosi know something
