Re: Favorite Recipies

It took me 10 years to perfect the margarita...and the resulting recipe is soooo simple (which makes mixing it together easy after you've had a few).

WARNING: These are sipping margaritas and should only be consumed if you have no place to drive.

4 parts tequila
2 parts Triple Sec
3 parts Rose's Lime Juice

On the rocks, of course, in a salted margarita glass.

Enjoy!

If you know any Germans, or those with ancestry... you might want to ask them about their traditional wines that they serve during Christmas. They serve this hot wine (and I believe this tradition to be a part of the Scandanavians as well). Atleast in Sweden, it's called Winglueg and it is a nice, hot wine (sometimes with spices) to be had with Ginger/Butter crackers. Very nice...

If someone wants, I can post some nice shooters (i.e. Sex On The Beach, Alabama Slammer etc) and their recipies.

In Britain it's called mulled wine.

The secret is the Rose's Lime Juice - it's gotta be Rose's Lime Juice

Later that night, I can barely remember driving very fast down the 10-mile highway from the base to the town without my headlights on.

Weeeee...uh, um...but that's bad, m'kay?

Grape juice, Everclear, ginger ale... In varying proportions, depending on how strong the first batch was. Never had it since, but, as I told you in London, I still have two quarts of Everclear in the cabinet... Waiting for you. BWAAHAHAHA!

That was also the night we heard the four words uttered we never expected a master sergeant to say... "Fire that mother up!".

The best Margarita I've ever consumed is the Perfect Margarita at Applebees. Good stuff that is.

I shudder with the memory of it all. Did the master sarge have any of the Purple Jesus?

Everclear? For me? You got the wrong man, mate. Witness the amount of booze I had at the 2003 CAMRA beer festival here: 3 sips of YOUR pints.

Re: Favorite Recipies

Oh yes, that's right! A Bitter, I'm sure, since it's the only beer that doesn't give me an instant headache.

I actually had a half-pint glass of some unctuous potion. It tasted like someone had soaked their muddy feet in it for a week.

BoaB:

Rose's makes two Rose's Lime <fill in the blank> :

Juice and Cordial. The cordial has 0.5% alcohol in it, and the juice...well, it's just juice. I prefer the regular Rose's lime juice, 'cause Lord knows the margs have enough alcohol in them without the extra kick from the cordial.

Large mixing bowl (more like a cauldron of sorts). Pour large quantity of 182 proof alcohol. Set a grille on top and put gigantic lump of sugar. Pour more 182 and set fire. The sugar melts and falls into the 182 inside (how THAT didn't catch fire, I don't know). When the glasses were passed around for the prost I also remember that it had plenty of spices in it (dry spices. Not the powders). It was amazing.
While Vacationing in Mexico, this was served after dinner:Fire Coffee

In a small silver cauldron put coffee, lime squeezing, & Kailua Ignite Fire on bottom burner, then add spices, (two?) other liquors, (not sure of what these were) nuts or large beans?

Torch top of mixture. Over the flame peel a lime so that a long tendril drops into the fire and liquid. Pull it out and the flame will relocate to the peel.

Pour cauldron mixture into 4 cups then cut the peel accordingly so each cup has a (now small)flaming peel.It Was Also Amazing!
