Re: Favorite Recipies

I loves me some tandoori chicken, I do.

And it could hardly be surprising gillis99 would get such a reaction from an Italian.

NNJ: apart from borscht, caviar and vodka, I don't know any other Russian foods, but I found too many to list at RussianFoods.com, if you can believe it.

Enjoy.

Re: Favorite Recipies

No problemo.

Oh yeah! How could I forget Chicken KIEV (or Kotlety Pozharskie)?

Now, Bernard Matthews' Mini Kievs® are probably something completely different.

Re: Favorite Recipies

Well, NNJ, it's a RAW form....
And even if it's not, if you pour bleach into the person's gas tank.
Well.....I'm sure you can fill the end...

Re: Favorite Recipies

Actually that wouldn't work, as it would kill you as the bleach and gasoline would ignite on contact. Better try some type of time release mechanism. I suggest a ping pong ball as the gasoline will disolve the plastic over time.

PS Don't bother reporting me, they already have a file on me.

Well, the real traditional types are large, charcoal and wood fired and difficult to maintain. Plus, it's a nifty technique one needs to learn to run them. They are also kinda slow, not suited for mainstreams markets I suppose. Anyways, the only places I've seen these are in the Gharwal region of Uttar Pradesh, Ladhak, Leh, Punjab and Rajasthan.

Stratty: I heard that the great General George Pickett, friend of Abe and commander of the charge at Gettysburg, was very fond of a type of baked fish found in something called a "Shad bake" (a fondness that supposedly cost him the Battle of Five Forks, late in the War). Now I have no clue what this is, maybe you do?

Re: Favorite Recipies

Shad is a specied of small fish found in abundance in most southern lakes. They are a feeder fish that larger species prey upon (Bass, Walleye, Crappie).

Shad can be easily netted. The technique you spoke of (a shad bake) is when the fish are placed in a dutch oven, usually with corn and small potatos, and roasted or baked with hot coals.. It's still a common practice in the central south region of the U.S. (Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia)...

Quite delicious actually.

Re: Favorite Recipies

Same here, NNJ. Same here...
I posted the actual Napalm recipe in an on-line diary of mine (the whole thing not just my bleach/gas one) and my cousin went off on me, telling about this internet watchdog thing called ECHELON. Ran by the governemt blah blah Big Brother...
