Original Dark Side cover

With all the different looks to Dark Side Of The Moon, I was wondering if the pic below is the original look of the album?

I think it is, just without the white album and band title in the upper right.

Re: Original Dark Side cover

The 'Pink Floyd - DSOTM' was a sticker that was placed on the shrinkwrap of the LP. Minus that, it's the original cover.

Re: Original Dark Side cover

That cover was only issued on the (early) Japanese version, with the shrink sticker on the artwork.... I think.

Re: Original Dark Side cover

Yeah and the bastards put the sticker on so folks not in the know would know what they're buying. Like they probably would have had to do with most Pink Floyd albums. LOL

Re: Original Dark Side cover

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Atom Heart Mother was the first album ever released without any indication of the band that released it on the cover ...

Re: Original Dark Side cover

From what I know they only put the sticker with the name on at first. Once the album became so iconic they felt they didn't need to spend the money on printing them.

Re: Original Dark Side cover

I was told that name was dropped early on because of copyright reasons over the word Eclipse.

In studio working title for the project only. Upon release it has always been, Dark Side of the Moon.
The Eclipse Set" was never under consideration as the actual Album Title.
