Macs are easy enough to adjust to, but be very prepared to have compatability issues, and of course, you'll have to buy a lot of your software again (things like Office, etc.), or you can download Open Office from www.openoffice.org .

I was thinking about Open Office when I wrote the above, and I'll definitely give it a plug - it contains pretty much all the applications that MS Office Standard Edition has, is completely free, and you can exchange Word and Excel files straight across with MS Office. There are versions for Linux, many flavors of Unix, and for Windows. Given that MS Office is grievously overpriced, it's an excellent alternative.

Now, if someone would just get me an open-source Visio alternative...
