Re: Community Ideas

It appears so. Normally a few pages of spam is enough to kill any thread.

Re: Community Ideas

i think it's a silent...or anti-silent protest of the whole on topic campaign. in my opinion, banter encourages discussion rather than deters it.

I totally disagree....

My experience on the TRHF has shown me that even when banter is limited to the OT sections of the Forum, the rest of the forum actually functions a lot better without the chitchat. Want fun, go to The Lounge. Want info, help and knowledge, ALL other areas of the forum. Makes perfect sense to me.

Re: Community Ideas

OT = Old Testament?

Sort of odd at an anti-Semitic site.

Re: Community Ideas

What anti-semitic site? If you meant the TRHF, then I have to say that I didn't find that funny at all. Not even remotely witty.

OT = Off topic

Re: Community Ideas

that is your experience on a different board. I'll give you the limiting off topic stuff to just babbling, but i doubt that will ever happen, realistically speaking. hell, i don't even know what forums i'm posting in anymore half the time, nor do i really care. Personally, I know I don't come here to find information on Pink Floyd. I come here to talk about anything that catches my fancy. Certainly that could be seen as selfish, and I understand the frustration that a true seeker of knowledge would have, but I still think we cover our bases pretty well as far as answering questions goes. We've our fair share of geniuses/fanatics.
