Lynyrd Skynyrd

So i was watching "Freebird: The movie" today, and at the end it plays simple man and shows pictures and videos of the band doing stuff with their families and such. And it just made me sad, the were an awesome band with a ton of potential. Who here likes lynyrd skynyrd? Or has seen the freebird dvd?

I haven't picked up the DVD yet bit it's on my list.

I've been a Skynyrd fan since the 70's. I got away from them for years but rediscovered them not too long ago. I just picked up their 30th anniversary retrospctive DC, Great Disc! If you need to fill in cracks in your Skynyrd collection it's a great one, quite a few rare tracks on there.

In Highschool, on the track team, they called me "The Breeze".....

yes skynard is awesome. but the key there is potential. other than freebird and sweet home alabama they don't have much. that is what makes bands like floyd and the beatles so special, that they had what they had and they were able to portray what they had onto more than a couple of songs.

They were mortal enemies with Neil Young, therefore I find it impossible to like them.

I like Skynyrd and Young equally, or not at all, take your pic.

By the way, the next time I see some hicks slow-dancing to Freebird, I'm going to puke.

They have more great songs than free bird and sweet home alabama. Have you heard simple man? or Workin for mca?

My problem with "Freebird" is that it never ends. It goes on and on and on and on.....3 or 4 minutes would have been perfect.

A pretty guitar riff, but, GAWD! Over and over and over....?
I always wondered if the boys didn't know how to end it.

Wait until you see them trying to sing it.
