What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric? Most profound [PF] lyric personally? "...Careful how you go, I can tell you 'cause I know..."

damned search engine, making me look like a fool. i suggest a higher quality search engine. i would tend to think that searching for "favorite quote" would have revealed such previous threads

Hmmm..."favorite quote" isn't a very good thing to search on in this instance. I clicked on the SEARCH button above-right and looked first for "lyric" then "lyrics" and selected to search topic names rather than posts. No worries. You did stipulate "from Floyd or otherwise" so it's not a true DDT. Still...

Ohhhhhh so many..... "Now it's too late to loose the weight you use to need to throw around". (PF Dogs) "If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there." (George Harrison, Any Raod) "Father will do the best he can; So many things a father can’t understand." (Clapton, Motherless children) I'm sure I'll think of more later...

The last time I saw Richard was Detroit in '68 And he told me all romantics meet the same fate someday Cynical and drunk and boring someone in some dark cafe You laugh he said you think you're immune Go look at your eyes they're full of moon You like roses and kisses and pretty men to tell you All those pretty lies pretty lies When you gonna realise they're only pretty lies Only pretty lies just pretty lies He put a quarter in the Wurlitzer and he pushed Three buttons and the thing began to whirr And a bar maid came by in fishnet stockings and a bow tie And she said "Drink up now it's gettin' on time to close" "Richard, you haven't really changed" I said It's just that now you're romanticizing some pain that's in your head You got tombs in your eyes but the songs you punched are dreaming Listen, they sing of love so sweet, love so sweet When you gonna get yourself back on your feet? Oh and love can be so sweet Love so sweet Richard got married to a figure skater And he bought her a dishwasher and a coffee percoator And he drinks at home now most nights with the TV on And all the house lights left up bright I'm gonna blow this damn candle out I don't want nobody comin' over to my table I got nothing to talk to anybody about All good dreamers pass this way some day Hidin' behind bottles in dark cafes dark cafes Only a dark cocoon before I get my gorgeous wings and fly away Only a phase these dark cafe days (Joni Mitchell -- The Last Time I Saw Richard)

I dreamed I was a pigeon slipping through the heavens like a 747 everyone left down below locked in a house of my invention learning the donts of fire prevention if I roast marshmallows over their bodies do you think god will still find their souls? just want to be like we used to under the influence just want to see like we used to under the influence I dreamed I was a white tip slipping through the Pacific my heart for a shipwreck and your legs left down below some things they come, all things they go and there ain't nothing like exploding if you've got something to explode
