Obscured By Cloudes - Does it worth the investment?

Obscured By Clouds is an excellent album in my opinion. It is of course very underrated, but there are some fantastic songs on this album and I would recommend it as an essential Floyd album.

That's absolutely the case. A very fine album indeed.

I don't want to give you my opinion of the album, because I may love it while at the same time you say you hate it. But I will say one thing, if you have almost every album, why not complete your collection. Obsured by Clouds is an amazing album filled w/ energy, and it is definitely necessary for any REAL Floyd fan.

Bloody good record, and an album I can't wait to hear again once it arrives.

OBC is, IMHO, one of Floyd's finest work of art.

Picked this up today (£2.99! Bargain city!), and now that I've listened to it a few times in depth, I recommend it a thousand fold. The instrumentals are godly, and the other songs have a lovely, benevolent/sunny feel to them. Buy it!

At the risk of being stoned by everyone I don't think it's that good, it's certainly not bad but its just lacks Floyd magic in my oppinion. It sounds like it could be any band from that era it dosen't have the original Floyd stamp that was in previous albums (ie Piper) or later ones (ie WYWH). It just seemed like a let down to me.

For being composed and recorded in less that two weeks, I think it is amazing. Due to the urgency they were under to get it done, it is not surprising that it would reflect the current musical trends of its day. But it certainly sounds "Floydy" to me.

A "must" for all Floyd fans.

I have no problem with PF albums reflecting the times (AMLOR springs to mind) but it just dosen't make a Floyd mark on this era in music thats all it's anonomous.
