Question Obscured By Cloudes - Does it worth the investment?

I Have a question:

I have almost every Pink floyd Album, plus collections, videos, and dozens of RoIO's.
In fact, the only one I'm missing from the waters era (Studio) is obscured by cloudes.
What I would like to know, is it worth the costly Price tag to purchace it, In means of the music on it?
Is it like more?
is it like Meddle?
could Please you give examples for Its style and level so I may know whether and when Should I Buy It? (If at all)

Thanks In Advance...

Yoav.

I don't know where you're planning to buy it for a high price, but I recommend it if you liked the other albums from the era (More, Meddle). It isn't really like More, or like Meddle a whole lot, it has it's own "groove." It's got some experimental synth stuff for the ambient parts in the movie, so if you're into instrumentals, there's some good ones on there. The songs Free Four (this one gets stuck in your head really easily), Wots Uh the Deal, and The Gold It's In The...... definitely are the best ones on the CD, and definitely makes the "costly price" worth every cent.

Absolutely positively definately.
Just like all other Pink Floyd albums, it has its unique style.
Mudmen, Burning Bridges, Stay, Wots uh the deal are all brilliant. It's one of the Pink Floyd albums where each song flows freely into the next. If it has a ridiculous price tag at your local music shop then why not buy it online?

It's a definitely worth it. When I first heard it, (only a few months ago) it blew me away. One of my favorites now.
Here's a couple sample clips: http://www.floydianslip.com/discs/obc.htm
but they probably don't do justice.

It is definitely worth getting, at whatever price.

And to avoid repeating what has been extensively discussed elsewhere on this site, have a look at the threads below:

Best track on Obscured By Clouds

Obscured by Clouds

I believe it's well worth the purchase. Some of the songs may remind you of things they did on Dark Side, although it's not a concept album, and not THAT closely related. (To me, Burning Bridges/Mudmen reminds me of Us and Them.) I heard one person call it Dark Side's little brother. Some of the tracks are more dissimilar, of course. Regardless--I do think you'll like it.

if you're a fan like many of us, buy both the album Obscured By Clouds, as well as "La Vallee (The Valley Obscured By Clouds)" the movie. its a hard movie to like, but you'll enjoy watching/owning it, i'm sure.

OK Fokes, I don't need any more convincing. I've already decided to ask it from my brother as a birthday present next month (I'm kind of broke right now, so I can't afford to get it myself this month), but I can Assure you that I've spent a lot of my money on Pink Floyd CD's, Videos, collectibilites, etc.

I Bought Obscured By Clouds!!

well, It's nothing liike Us & Them, as some of you has pointed out, but there are some similarities with Meddle.

My most favourite tracks On this PF Album so far are - Childhood's End" (Best Track On The Album!) and "The gold it's in the..." (I Like the Guitars).

In any Case, I guess I need getting this album growing on me a bit more before I could go further on this subject, Unless I get interesting Replies, and we could start an interesting discussion.

BTW, My brother insisted buying me something else for my birthday, cause he thought the artwork for "Obscured by clouds" wasn't good looking...

How thick could my own flesh and blood brother get?

Anyway, I did manage to find a store which sold OBC at a cheaper Tag.

So there you have it.

I would love to hear some comments...
