Question rare album possibly maybe?
my friend told me her roommate has a pink floyd cd called 'variations on a theme of absence' & its a "rare" album ... is this true or is she full of crap???

& if its true i want a copy.

Sounds like a RoIO she has, not an official album. As for how rare the particular RoIO may or may not be, I can't say--I'll leave that to the experts.

Sorry, my fault there.

A RoIO is a Recording of Illegitimate/Indeterminate Origin. Some people refer to them as b00tlegs or b00ts, as opposed to official studio or live albums. RoIOs are unofficial. ("B00tleg" typed that way because there are a few who would prefer that not be spelled out.)

You could always go the Pink Floyd ROIO database ( I don't have the link, but I am sure someone does) and see if thats what it is.
