My Hello Note

I am 57 and when the Wall came out my Nephew bought it. I was on a visit to his home when I heard this guitar music (run up to Another Brick in the Wall) and got him to tape it for me. I played this for a long time. At the time I was a Taxi Driver in Belfast and worked 8 hours a night and 6 nights a week. I actually listened to The Wall for a full five years 8 hours a night and six nights a week. I was so fascinated with it that each time I listened to it I could interpret more of it. Then I realised that I identified myself with a lot it. After the five years had passed I had to stop listening to it. Anyway long story short, I now listen to Roger Waters. My last cd's I bought was Division Bell & Amused to Death. Sorry for rambling on but when it comes to Floyd and Waters it's never easy to keep quiet.
Thanks for your time.

Hi Boardwriter, welcome aboard!

I know what you mean. I had a similar obsession with The Wall, although I only played it once a day for 2 or 3 months straight.

Welcome aboard.

I actually still play The Wall almost daily...it helps me get through everyday life. It's probably rivaling TDB and Led Zep's Houses Of The Holy for my most played recently.

If I may ask one thing...what did you think of TDB? I don't know why, but it struck my curiosity.

Once again, welcome.

Yes, I play it every Friday Night at Dark thirty. Couldn't imagine it otherwise.
The name "The Wall" seems double-ironic doesn't it? Because it seems that it has been the "The Door" to unfathomable riches for neoteric Floydians, including myself during its first release.
