Mao Zedong

(1893-1976)
Mao Zedong led China's Communist revolution in the 1920s and 1930s and became chairman (chief of state) of the People's Republic of China in 1949, an office he held until 1959.

As in communism, the opposite of capitalism

I think I'll just leave it there. Thank you for your input.

If Roger doesn't want to release any Iraqi War album even though he might have material, I wouldn't blame him. Sure, he has freedom of speech, but I'm sure a lot of people don't want the attention that people like the Dixie Chicks got, want to cause controversy or even division between the fans.
I have more respect for THOSE people than people who like to just say whatever the hell they feel like saying because they know they could say it. If Rog doesn't want to feel the heat of political controversy in his music then he's entitled to and I have a lot of respect for that I don't think he'd be backing down or anything, but not everyone wants to cause controversy.
Even though they did the whole political thing in Animals and The Final Cut, one thing I like a lot about Floyd's songs is that they stay in their own, personal world without generalizing on everyday feelings with no unique, personal value. Like Wish You Were Here is a song many people could relate to although it's not written in a 'general' context. Same thing with Mother.

I am interested in performing The Wall as well. How do I go about contacting Roger Waters and his management?

rights to pink floyd

How do I contact Roger Waters? I am also looking to use the rights to his music. I want to use Dark Side of the Moon for a nonprofit event. Did you have any luck contacting him.. or getting permission to use his music?
