Fate is not going to allow Mr. Waters to rejoin the Floyd, nor will we hear a new studio album from the Rogerless band.

It won't ever happen.

I think if all were back together for one more album, they can live up to expectations and the album could be like the old days of the 70's. But we'll never know, unless a miracle happens and they all get back together.

The Division Bell & PULSE make up the perfect ending to a perfect band's career.

I agree. I personally feel High Hopes had a ring of finality about it at the end of The Division Bell. Not only in the obvious sense that it was an end of a great album, but also in the sense that the band were at an end of a long glorious road and were now looking back in memory.

Exactly. A fitting song about the lofty dreams of old forgotten days. Even a brilliant slide solo at the end to send them on their way and draw the curtains one last time. High hopes is the ultimate wave goodbye.

Well, I'm glad some of us have come to understand.

Waiting for the band to do a reunion album & tour is indeed having "high hopes".

There's more chance of John Lennon and George Harrison leaping out of the grave to reform the Beatles than there is of Roger rejoining Pink Floyd....sad but true!

I know this is old, but I wanted to see if anyone changed his/her opinion about a reunion after the Live 8 show. It's still just as unlikely that the whole band would make an album, but maybe some of you are more warmed up to the idea now?

I doubt very much that they will appear Live again, other than for some equally or more important social or humanitarian issue than Live-8.

However, I do still hold on to the possibility and hope, while the four are still alive, that they might conjure up a once and final (finalé?) Floyd album.

Those vestigal piggy wings might just get the old porker aloft one last time.

(we need a winged pig smiley)

Perhaps something a bit more uplifting this time?

I think it was good that the guys supposedly buried the hatchet. Imo it's not good to carry grudges your whole life. Of course I'd love to see a reunion tour but I highly doubt it or any other Floyd tour in a different configuration is gonna happen.
