Floyd ~ home, car, work or other?

I noticed that I listen to a different set of CDs when I’m by myself at home. When I’m in the car I have a certain set of CDs, and yet another entirely different set at work. Do other people do this? For me, PF is mostly car listening. What about you?

Home, Car and Work. It sounds good anywhere.

I mainly listen to music at home - it's too hot here in the summer to keep CD's in the car, so I just listen to the radio when driving. And I don't listen to music at work, as it is usually someone else's premises.

I listen to CDs on the way to school, and when I'm sitting on my computer wasting time away.

I listen to PF some at home, and at work when I'm by myself and have to get some serious work accomplished. For some reason, it acts like a supercharger. I think it makes the time seem to go by faster.

Re: Floyd ~ home, car, work or other?

Athough I do listen to Floyd primarily in the car, there are certain tracks that I like better than others and PF isn't the only thing I listen to. Those of you who listen to various Cds in the car know that the best way to do it is to make compilations, because regardless of whether you have a 10-disc changer under the seat or a single CD player in the dashboard, it's a hassle having to change CDs all the time. This is why I do all of my track buying and burning from the web nowadays ~ but I won't do any of the illegal ones. Here are some reasons why I feel that subscription-based digital music services are better than free file-sharing:

1. There is no risk of viruses
2. The quality of the streams is consistently better and in some cases CD quality (such as with Rhapsody)
3. Much easier to use because it's organized and catalogued
4. artists get paid when you burn copies of their songs
5. You don't get sued for 'stealing' music

There are more reasons than what I've listed here, but these are the ones I consider to be the most significant. Anyone else doing this?

While i listen to pink floyd everywhere, i think the best scenario for enjoying the floyd is outside at night with some friends smoking. It really doesnt get much better than that.

Re: Floyd ~ home, car, work or other?

You're right, it really doesn't. Amen to that.
Btw, here's the service we've been using at my office-->http://www.bestbuy.com/rhapsody... I highly recommend trying this or a service like it for a couple of reasons, not the least of which is simply that it's fun ~ especially if you work in an office with computers where everyone can take turns playing DJ. But also because this is where the music industry is headed, so we might as well get familiar with it now. Chances are when our children's children first hear Floyd, it will be on a digital music streaming service like this where Floyd will be listed as the influence of some new younger artist who they'll be into.

I listen to floyd when i'm relaxing in my room, on my couch, burning some incense (just because it's relaxing, not to cover up) just chilling. I do burn compilations for my car though, i have quite a few. I have an in-dash 6-CD changer in my car.

When you make compilations, do you just burn tracks directly off various CDs or do you download tracks online and then burn discs?

I love listening to Floyd while walking through Times Square in NYC on my MP3 player. At night, its almost like being in a video! Truely an awsome experience with all the people and lights.
