I think they are pretty good as long as they aren't taking themselves seriously. They remind me of a real actual Spinal Tap, I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Yea I was watching the video of I believe in a thing called love yesterday with a friend and she was trying to tell me something about how the video was making fun of Queen.. has anyone heard this? BTW, I only heard that one song, but I really didn't like it.

Re: The Darkness

I totally agree with you. After the 1990s music started going downhill. I cannot really think of any classic songs from any band after 1995. Can anyone else???!?!? Nobody cares anymore about peoples' tastes. They are all out to make money and they feel by exposing them selves in a sexual way they will actually get somewhere. Yeah maybe with guys/girls that only care about physical appearances. You know I believe, that when we buy music, it because the music and songs are what are great, who cares if the singer is not the hottest thing on earth. As long as the music is good he/she is sure to get somewhere. Right now The Darkness, compared to the other bands I've heard are one of the hottest bands out there in my opinion. Jet (an Australian group) is alright but their songs have started to get commercialized here in the US. I still love my 70's and 80's music. : My daughters have got to be the youngest Pink Floyd fans out there. My first one is 4 and the second is 1. They sing and dance to all the songs we play from them. So this goes to show that even the future generation thinks current Popular music sucks!!!

I take them seriously musically and I like them very much. I've got their album, and though I certainly wouldn't call I Believe In A Thing Called Love one of the best songs *ever*, I do think they've got the right idea. Jet is another one that seems to have the right idea, though, I frown upon them being compared to the Beatles or anyone of that caliber.

I think music is varied now. the better bands are getting less attention. the darkness are horrible, horrible band. They insulted Radiohead just a little while ago, calling them boring. since then ive been on a cruisade to ban The Darkness as much as possible. I think they're kind of music (80s cinderella rock) is just blain horrible and should be thrown out and shot.

To each their own. The band has a right to their opinion, and you to yours. Though, I disagree with both, liking The Darkness and Radiohead respectively, I honor your views. However, sometimes it's tough to realize the truth. An example being that I just got the Cure's Trilogy DVD, and thinking that I was a big Cure fan, I found out perhaps I'm not as a big a fan as I thought but only like a few songs, as I found the whole thing very boring. Then again, perhaps a few years down the line I'll think it's great or something. I watched all of it under a little pain, but I got two DVD's for less than the price of one at Sam Goody (the other being Avril Lavigne).

I've heard that their biggest asset is a great live show.
They were to play here in April at a small club that holds 1000, the show sold out. Now it's been moved to a larger venue that seats 3000, I assume from popular demand. I don't recall ever seeing that happen before.

I kind of half dig that one song they play on the radio. But I don't like 80's hair bands. Which is what it sounds like to me.

Their single is very fun. And incredibly riff-tastic. But not much else.
