Well I did like the darkness, but now that they've insulted radiohead i've begun my anti darkness campaign. Its not right to bash other musicians, no matter what. Look at most of the great guitarists, they always had something good to say about anyone else, and thats the way it should be in music. So I'll try not to support a band if they are gonna be assholes like that. Just my opinion.

I guess we should protest Aerosmith, too, due to Joe Perry bashing Pete Townshend.

I think the last really good band that I like that is new music is Rage Against the Machine. I like all of their songs, except renegades of funk. What were they thinking *shakes head*. Smashing Pumpkins was pretty good for a while, back in the Mellon Collie days. Everyone asks me why I listen to "old" music and I say "because it is better then all the crap out today". So many people think that all the bands or whatever are around now are original, but many of them rip off old songs. Some guy was trying to tell me that the line "We don't need no education" was written by some rapper. 'tis sad how the music has devolved. And regarding the Darkness, that guy pulls the best solos of anybody now. My friend does the best impression of that guy singing. We always sing it in English and get in crap from my teacher, lol.

its quite funny, thats how i thought when i was depressed, pretty bad way to think about things if you know what i mean. but thats sort of when i began getting into floyd more than i was already, if everyone thought about that the suicide rate would probably go up quite a bit. the darkness really just seem like a one hit wonder to me though, i only know of one person who bought their cd. i always just thought they were a joke, they make you laugh but its not anything worth buying if you ask me.

I don't really like the album, i've listened to the album once, not exactly great, but its good to see a band try and bring things back to old school rock.
It seems that guitar solos especially are slowly coming back in rock, the bands that showed up in the nu metal movement like disturbed and slipknot are apparently throwing guitar solos on their new album....there is still hope.

Wing'd Icarus, live in the now.

i'm afraid you both have got me all wrong. i live my life quite contently and am generally a very happy person. I don't believe in the loss hope because the world will end someday, I was just stating it as fact.

I bought the album thinking it would be in the same vein as maybe T-Rex or Sweet....but I think it's rubbish.

thats good that you are content and its very true, we're gonna wipe ourselves out, my guess is one of the nuclear bombs going around. happy isnt it? but no, the world wont end, it'll just build itself up again, its happened five times already, but we will all be long gone before that happens, so we have nothing to worry about except the stupid people handling those afore-mentioned bombs
