Re: SCREW ROGER WATERS

This is what I fail to understand: how such an accomplished musician who has done so much for the culture of many can be such a cynical, self-absorbed, and overall malicious asshole. Yes, I respect him as a musician and as an artist but these days I wouldn't piss on him to put out a fire.

Re: SCREW ROGER WATERS

He is just a human man, flawed and yet a genius. But as i always say, every genius is a little ecentic. And there's alot we don;t know to why he is the way he is. Just enjoy the music i say. Shine on...

Re: SCREW ROGER WATERS

I agree that Roger is a genius (songwriting and concepts), but he is hardly a great musician. Dave played bass on roughly half of Floyd's albums, and Roger can't play the fretless bass (have you ever seen him play it on Hey You?)

I think Roger has mellowed through the years (as is evidenced by his softer tone on the recent VH-1 shows on the band and The Wall. To me, the band was always best when all were contributing - Rick and Dave write excellent music together, and Roger's lyrics and concepts can't be beat!

Re: SCREW ROGER WATERS

True, Roger isn't the greatest musician. I should correct myself, I meant great songwriter. Sorry about that

Perhaps you're right NNJ, but discussion is discussion, whether or not the topic is intelligent.

No offense there Freak, but I just aprreciate the music and could care less what Rog, Dave, Nick, and Rick do in their spare time.

Re: SCREW ROGER WATERS

c'mon guys! how can you judge someone? what harm is being done to you from the charachter of an artist? the whole on-going discussions on their characters is nonsense.
I mean what is the point in talkin' about someone you (and it may be ONLY you or maybe thousands of you) don't like in person?

Re: SCREW ROGER WATERS

terminalfrost said that Dave played ass for roughly half the albums. I know he plays the fretless bass but HALF? Name them and where did you get the information from?

Re: SCREW ROGER WATERS

I can't remember were I heard this (probably ½ year ago)but I heard that Gilmour did pretty much of the bass...he was more efficient and did more work as to speak...I don't know if it's true but doubts are high.
