i'm just signed up to it for the floyd news. and the subject was "sad passing in the floyd" or something along those lines...but it was just the manager....they shouldn't scare people like that (i didn't mean that it makes his death something to laugh at or anything. I just meant he wasn't syd barrett...or one of the others...)

Look, I don't think ANY of this is what this topic was MEANT to be about.

In fact, I think it's a more than a bit disrespectful to Mr. O'Rourke to sit here and make off-topic wisecracks in the middle of this thread. Normally if I'm not interested I just don't respond, but to me this is a bit much.

And I'm sure he's not "just the manager" to his family and friends. How would any of us feel if we lost someone close to us?

Maybe he is not physically around, but at least his memory should be treated with respect, and the fact that his family and friends are undoubtedly in pain!

I'm sure close friends of Steve are pretty tattered right now, with Steve passing away and Storm recovering from a stroke himself.
My condolences to their friends and family.....

What, a man's death isn't serious enough?! What more could it possibly take to get through to you?

FW - I appreciate your point but I rather doubt that the family of Steve O'Rourke will be scanning this forum in search of obituaries.

I offer my profound gratitude to Mr. O'Rourke for his part in bringing Pink Floyd into my life - He made the world a richer place to live in. I offer my condolences to all who miss him.

BTW, you may all feel free to mock and wisecrack at my wake - My will states my funeral plans are to have myself stuffed, standing one arm outstretched with finger pointing, and placed at the foot of my wife's bed with a sign around my neck saying "J'accuse!".

I gotta agree with FWr - show a little respect for the guy. He had a great influence on the Floyd, and he, his family, and friends deserve our condolences.
