Re: GREAT BOOTLEGS!!!

Does anyone have the Wall demos?
Got a few songs and they sound much different.

I'd say the guys worked hard from the demos to come up with such a result!

Re: GREAT BOOTLEGS!!!

I found intrest in a RoIo called "Mooed Music". It was a supposed BBC Program produced by blah blah blah. Remember when Napster was still full force and there were no bans on music? I found all the tracks on there. My favorite song listed ended up being more than I expected. It was track one, The Embryo. I was used to the old version with just mostly vocals, piano, flute(?), etc. Well this one kicks in with the awesome blues-stylie that early 1970's Floyd is famous for. A few lyrics were changed, but overall still the same song. Go to www.cdcovers.cc and look up the cover for "PINK FLOYD = MOOED MUSIC". It has all the info on what the cover looks like, inside the book, the back, etc. Enjoy, and if you find someone out there willing to sell you a copy, its HIGHLY recommended if youre into great classic 'after Syd' Pink Floyd! Later.

Re: GREAT BOOTLEGS!!!

Smoking Blues is my favorite because, to me, the best 4 piece band version of "Atom Heart Mother" is on that. If anyone wants to trade roio's with me, I'll email you my list. I've got around 30 and some vids too.

Re: GREAT BOOTLEGS!!!

Well, I've kind of covered this topic before. so I won't go into great detail.(Check the other RoIO forums). I've got somewhere around 75 (give or take a few) Some are double cd's, others are 3 or 4 cd sets. And also many single. I've got stuff from Syd (Magnesium Proverbs 66-70), every year Floyd toured, to Davids "Meltdown" show. I've got the Wall demos also. Numb is very spooky! I'm hoping to get about 15 or 20 more here soon. But... Anywho, I've thought about trading and such. Fix is still the first on my list to send a copy of one of them. Sorry Fix, my computer is on the frits and is messing things up lately. If I ever get a cable hook-up it'll make things easier. Anywho, anyone wanting to check my list out just send me an e-mail or a personal message and I'll be happy to. By the way, "Echoes in the Gardens"-6/18/75 is one of my personal favorites. Dark Side sounds very good. Anywho...

Re: GREAT BOOTLEGS!!!

Ive got many bootlegs from each Era.

One of my favourites is from the 94 tour, one of the Texas gigs.

The show was cancelled about half way through due to a torrential rainstorm, initially Ricks piano stops during Great Gig, then everything just packs it in during Run Like Hell. You hear Dave explaining to the crowd that everything has stopped working and that sadly they would have call it quits. Its hilarious while dave is speaking you can hear some guy screaming at the top of his lungs "BULLLLLLLLLSHIT!!"

Re: GREAT BOOTLEGS!!!

The story I heard was that Rick's keyboard was completely soaked by "Great Gig", so he only got through a couple of intro bars before it gave an electric shock that jumped him back a few feet. David pressed on to "Money", switching guitars every few minutes to keep the strings somewhat dry, but to no avail. They skipped ahead to "Run Like Hell" (chanting "RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN!") and got to the end of the first verse before Steve O'Rourke demanded that all onstage instrument power be switched off to avoid further electrocution! About 10 minutes later, power to the whole stadium went out anyway and people shuffled home by the light of emergency bulbs.

Thats right!! he only got through about 4 seconds of Great Gig before his guitar cut out, then dave said "shall we do something with the guitars? shall we push on with Money then?", they went straight to Run Like hell where everything crashed, thats when dave said "we're going to have to admitt defeat on this one, really sorry, we're going to have to love ya and leave ya".

Something like that, but yeah it was pretty much as you described it.
