Talking A funny Story

My wife called me at work very upset. It seems she found a poem in my 11 year old daughter's room that she said was extremely depressing and she was very worried about my daughter's mental state.

I told her I'd check it out when I got home.

Later that evening I went into my daughter's room and couldn't find anything my wife could have possibly been referring to. She came in and picked up a piece of paper with the lyrics to "Time" in my handwriting, that my daughter had asked me to write down for her since she loves the song (and I love breeding a second generation Floyd fan).

I couldn't stop laughing. I couldn't decide what was funnier - the fact that my wife associated my handwriting with that of an 11 year old, or that she thought an 11 year old actually had worldly enough experience to be able to come up with that genius, or that she was concerned over the mental state of an 11 year old for Pink Floyd lyrics.

My wife is obviously not a Floyd fan.

Yes that was a hysterical story.

And this thread, a waste of forum space.

Harsh,

I would have expected more from someone of reasonable intelligence. Disappointed by mankind again.

I thought you Amish were kinder and gentler.

Could have, should have, would have - but didn't.

I spend a few days in Lancaster every summer. Farmland and Amish - that's all I see. I figure you are the rougue kid with the chip on our shoulder rebelling against the old way.

Yeah, because Lancaster isn't one of the largest cities in PA with tons of non-Amish. Or home to a large auto auction, or even have a Jewish/Muslim/Catholic population. Not too mention one of the smallest populations of Amish in the US. None of that is Lancaster.

And, of course, if one segment of the county does contain a handful of Plainfolk, well we must all be Amish.

Now you're just being sensitive. I must have struck a cord.

As long as you are trying to educate me, you forgot to mention that excellent educational institution Franklin and Marshall College.

Actually, I wasn't trying to educate you, but there is more than one College here.

Sensitive, barely, just pointing out your faulty reasoning. But hey you've been here, you know more than me.
