Changing my Avatar?

I would like to be able to change my avatar....too many people have the same one as me. Is it possible to change? I've tried a few things and nothing seems to be working. Also...I noticed some people seem to have custom scripts written above their Avatars...I was wondering if they were setting that themselves or if it is something that the moderaters are doing? Sorry about all the questions.

It's in your control panel. Check out edit profile and edit options.

I just tried to change my avatar because I am tired of the WYWH avatar. For some reason when the 4 pages of premade avatars appear I can only select from page 1 (the one with mostly smiley faces.) When I try to go to pages 2-4 it always brings be back to page 1. Anyone else have this problem or know what is going on?

This has been a frequent problem which has plagued many others for long and long. Sadly, I don't yet have a proper answer for you but hopefully, The Piper will pipe in with good news.

Paulo?

QUESTION: I downloaded a bunch of Rog pics off the internet to use as avatars. Well now I realize they're too large. How do I shrink them down to use as avatars?

You need a "photoshop" or equivalent program.

Yes, using that program or an equaivalent Photo Editor program, decrease the image size to either 70x70 pixels and/or 100K maximum in size, whichever works.

Good luck.

I don't know about anyone else but this is how I got my avatar from between pages 2-4 of the list:

In Edit Options, click on More Info.... on the left hand side under Avatars. The entire list of system avatars comes up.

Choose the one you like and right click it and choose Properties which will show you the internal URL for it.

Copy and paste that URL into the Avatar URL textbox in the change avatar screen.

Ta da.

Ok, I just fixed the problem we were having with choosing avatars that were not on the first page. Now all avatars show up on one page. Not exactly what I wished for, but certainly a work-around.

Also, please notice that custom avatars (that is, avatars that you upload yourself) have to be 70x70 pixels and 7168 bytes, maximum. Anything over that will be rejected by the server.

On this one forum, people had huge avatars. And it pissed me off because it was obnoxious, and in the way.
